Glitterati Goes Vegan

Are you Red Carpet-ready?  If you haven't already heard, the glitterati attending tonight's 77th Golden Globe Awards (a staggering 1,300 guests) will dine on a totally plant-based menu.  This decision to go meatless was made by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) and born out of a concern for climate change.  The culinary team at the Beverly Hilton Hotel has promised a dinner that will excite and delight the glamorous attendees without compromising on presentation, style, or luxurious ingredients.

Here's tonight's menu:
- Chilled Golden Beet Soup, topped with shaved candy striped beets and pistachios
- King Oyster Mushroom "Scallops," resting on a bed of wild mushroom risotto with roasted
   brussel sprouts and carrots
- Vegan Opera Dome Dessert

The food will be prepared by a whopping 11 chefs, 120 culinary staff members, 50 bartenders, 250 servers, and 160 stewards.

Bravo to the HFPA for their effort to raise awareness of the climate change crisis and to boldly serve up this inspired meal along with a message.
